Probably the world's most versatile jazz band

"a bunch of wonderful and dynamic musicians, fun to watch and great to listen to" (Mimi Blais, Queen of Ragtime)

The eight members of the Bohém Ragtime Jazz Band own twenty instruments and they even play all of them! Not to mention other specialties of their unique features like other instrument-like tools for making musical noise with, a cappella singing or occasional dancing. The band plays almost as many styles as instruments.

Their concerts bring you back to the teens, twenties and thirties of the last century, providing much humour and joy besides the music. Besides focusing on American music, old Hungarian jazz songs are integral and important part of the repertoire. Attending any of their performance is an ideal programme for people of all ages from babies to great-grandmothers. (Don't leave great-grandpa at home, either.)

The band has appeared at the greatest jazz festivals in Europe and North America including Montreux, Pori, Sacramento, Breda, Ascona, Oslo, Dresden, Bude, Rimini, Berlin and many others. Their performances have broadened their circle of fans from the UK to Italy, from Romania to Canada. The Bohéms regularly play with guest stars.

Their performances have been broadcast by major televisions in Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania and by national radio stations in numerous countries. The band has recorded 21 albums over the years and those are also regularly broadcast by many radios. They have been organizing the International Bohém Festivals since 1992. The Bohéms were given the prestigious eMeRTon Prize as 'jazz band of the year' in 2003.

OTHERS ABOUT US

I must confess you, your band is the best oldtime jazzband, which I've ever heard in my life. You do a real music with heart. Each of you had me deep impressed.
(Dai Kimoto, CH, 2010)

The music the Bohém played in Davos was excellent. Tineke and I found the last evening in Steigenberg the best performance.
(Willem Peul, NL, 2010)

I want to tell you that I appreciated very much your band which is a perfect balance of traditional jazz, entertainment and music from your country with plenty of humour. And this combination by excellent musicians.
(Michel Bastide, F, 2010)

A tight-knit, disciplined, and intensely swinging ensemble. [...] The arrangements by Ittzés are both stylistically true and brilliantly inventive.
(CBMR Digest, Chicago, USA)
